Lyondell is sponsoring the building of an observation deck near its Maasvlakte plant in the Netherlands to be completed this summer. The deck will be built by Het Zuid-Hollands Landschap, a certified charity that promotes conservation and environmental education in (Oost) Voorne.
Many Lyondell employees live on the island and enjoy the nature. The observation post in de Slufter will have a magnificent view over the sea, dunes and Maasvlakte area. It will be a dedicated project for Lyondell that will serve environmental education purposes – the Education and Information Centrum at Rozenburg is being involved to develop a school tours program.
