Houston Mayor Bill White recently honored the employees of Lyondell with the presentation of the "2006 Mayor’s Outstanding Proud Partner Award." Lyondell President and CEO Dan Smith accepted the award from Mayor White on behalf of all Lyondell employees, in recognition of the tremendous contributions that they have made through their volunteerism.

More than 200 Lyondell volunteers spent two Saturdays brightening the lives of several homeowners and marking Lyondell’s fifth year of participation in community home repair through Rebuilding Together. This year, Lyondell repaired and refurbished six homes in the Houston and Beaumont communities.
