Lyondell has a long history of providing process licenses.
Our predecessor companies (ARCO and Sinclair) began their licensing program over forty years ago. We have designed over 150 processing units in more than 35 countries throughout the world and continue to be one of the major operating companies and world leaders in the petrochemical and refining industry. In many cases, we were the first company to develop the new process and build the first unit for producing the new product. Our hands-on operating experience gives us a distinct advantage over other companies in that we can provide troubleshooting expertise through our own operating unit.
More recently, we have added our SuperFlexTM, Alkylate 100SM, and ISOM-CDWTM process technologies to our list available for process licenses. Lyondell has formed licensing alliances/partnerships with many major companies: KBR, Kvaerner, CDTECH/Lummus, IFP, GTC, and Criterion/Shell to offer a complete line of process technologies on a worldwide basis.
