Using the UNIPOL™ process, Equistar produces linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) at two locations and in three distinct reactors. The result is consistent products for film, molding and broad-molecular-weight LLDPE applications.
Benefits and Applications
LLDPE is found in garbage/lawn-leaf bags, housewares, bottles, profiles, coffee can lids, dairy product packaging and large (rotomolded) parts, such as outdoor gym sets, riding toys and tanks.
Properties
Film products are available with either hexene or butene co-monomers, including Petrothene® Select LLDPE, a high-performance-hexene product. Molding products are offered for both injection and rotational molding processes. Broad-molecular-weight LLDPE grades are utilized in blow molding, profile and tubing applications.
