Equistar produces low density polyethylene (LDPE) at five locations using several leading technologies. The ability to manufacture products on high-pressure autoclave and tubular reactors creates the broadest product offering in the industry including film grades for clarity, ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) clarity, liner, fractional-melt, medium density polyethylene, garment and high molecular weight-low density polyethylene (HMW-LDPE) applications. Grades for extrusion coating, injection molding blow molding, sheet, profile and other applications are also available.
Benefits and Applications
LDPE is used in food packaging films, bottles, dry cleaning bags, ice bags, pallet shrink wrap, heavy-duty bags for mulch and potting soil, boil-in-bag bags, and coatings on flexible packaging products and paperboard cartons.
