As an avid adventure racer, Kelli is part of an exciting sports trend shared by cyclists, runners and water sport enthusiasts. You might find her and her team shredding through a tight single track on a mountain bike, hiking through a dense forest, ripping down rapids in a canoe or rappelling off a 100-foot rock face.
Obviously, Kelli is in no short supply of energy, and she takes that same vigor with her to work every morning.
“During the execution or implementation phase of any project or plant trial for which I’ve been involved in the design or planning, I am excited to get to work to get an update on the progress or learn any results that may have come in overnight,” she said.
I am either involved in and/or leading the decision-making process that impacts the safety, quality and efficiency of the unit on a daily basis.
As a production engineer, Kelli works to provide the daily production support in the ethylene oxide derivatives unit at her plant. Honing problem-solving and relationship-building skills as a student, she said, has served her well since joining Lyondell.
But what likely lends itself well to her day-to-day role here is her spirit for teamwork – it’s one of the things she most enjoys at work.
“Lyondell’s culture is one where teamwork is valued over individuality without compromising the innovation and creativity of the individual,” she said.
Now, that’s how you win a race.
