Lyondell's accounting and finance internships focus on meaningful work providing great experience for the intern and value for the company.
Interns are given real projects for which they have ownership and responsibility. Project assignments are determined based on the company's needs balanced with the student's experience and interests. Students are given tasks which are challenging, relevant and attainable.
A typical internship includes assignments for four to six weeks in two different Finance departments with a variety of tasks for each assignment, giving our interns exposure to diverse opportunities Lyondell has to offer. Lyondell also provides each intern with a special research project resulting in a presentation to key leaders and executives in Finance.
A cornerstone of the program is providing the right kind of support to the interns. Each student works closely with a supervisor in their area of assignment. In addition, mentors from the management group and “buddies” from the staff are available to each student. Various opportunities also occur during the internship for interaction with our executives.
An internship with Lyondell provides opportunities to work at our Houston headquarters, as well as plant locations in the Houston area. During the internship you will learn various systems, including SAP, and gain exposure to multiple processes. Intern roles are available in:
• Accounting
• Risk Assessment & Control
• Internal Audit
• Internal Controls
• Treasury
• Business Performance Analysis & Reporting
• Tax
